The Anointing of Jesus

The Gospels tell us that a woman washed Jesus feetn with her tears (Luke 7), another women annointed his feet with oil (John 12), and a third woman annointed his head with oil (Matt 26, Mark 14). Each story has a great deal to teach us and provides a dynamic three session outline:
 SALVATION, RELATION AND PROCLAMATION.

Stir Me, Oh God
A recipe for healthy Christian living.  Start with the Lamb of God and the Water of the Word; add the sweet fruits of the spirit; add the bitter herbs of suffering and persecution.  Heat through the fire of temptation.  Stir well through Prayer, Praise, Potential, and a Pure Mind.  Avoid Boil Over, Burning, and the lukewarm condition of the Back Burner.  Cleaning the pot - a method for starting over after hurts.  Stir Constantly - finding peace in a challenging world.

The Uriah Principle: When Your Soldier Can't Come Home

Confusion, hurt and failed marriages can result when a returning spouse cannot “come home” after a military deployment.  Uriah, the valiant Soldier and husband of Bathsheba, was ordered to go home by his Commander-in-Chief.  Instead, he slept two nights in the palace court yard, ignoring his beautiful wife.  Why? This Biblical story will lay the foundation for a presentation addressing changes that take place during deployment that cause problems for couples.  It will help us to understand the changes and find ways to flourish.
